Isang Magsasaka ang naka Gawa ng Kakaibang Butas sa kanyang alaganag Baka! Alamin ang buong kwento..

If you happen to pass by Switzerland and see their farms, then you might wonder why most of the cows there have holes on the side of their bodies. Most people might think this is just for branding or sometimes even cruelty but the holes are there for a good reason.

These holes are called “rumen fistulas,” and Swiss Farmers put that on the side of cow’s bodies to see what’s happening inside their stomachs.

First, the farmers cut the sides of the cow and place a tube that connects directly to the cow’s stomach. It is then sealed with a cap so that they could easily access the hole anytime.

According to farmers, the hole helps them and veterinarians to monitor the digestive process of cows. Understandably, cows experience a lot of problems because their stomach has 4 chambers.

If the cow experiences digestive problems, they could just unscrew the cap and see what’s happening inside their stomach. This also makes it easier for them to insert fungi and bacteria to the stomach in order to help them digest.

Most of the farmers and citizens in Switzerland believe that these holes are highly beneficial for cows. However, certain organizations such as PETA claim that these holes do not serve any good purpose for these bovines and are only beneficial for certain industries.
