WATCH: Sundalo nag-propose sa girlfriend matapos ang bakbakan sa Marawi: “I will be your soldier forever. Will you marry me?”



Troop members of Regional Public Safety Battalion in Northern Mindanao was happily welcomed by their family and loved ones through heroes’ welcome after a 5-month long battle against the ISIS-inspired terrorist group in Marawi City.



All of them were awarded a medal of excellence in recognition of their hard work and bravery in protecting the country during the bloody Marawi siege.



But when the program was about to end, one soldier took the courage to own the floor as he prepared a surprise for his longtime girlfriend.



Since the battle has ended, PO1 Alexis Tagapulot is now ready to begin a new chapter of his life and settle down with his girlfriend for three years Angely Lowao.

Complete with love song as background music and flowers for the lady, soldiers along with relatives and friends cheered and applauded PO1 Tagapulot as he bends his knees in front of Angely, offered her an engagement ring and said the magic word, “Will you marry me?”

The headquarters was filled with screams as Lowao said “yes” and sealed their engagement with a kiss.



PO1 Tagapulot said that he really grabbed the opportunity to propose during the heroes’ welcome to show the people how much he loved Angely.



The engaged couple is planning to tie the knot by the year 2018.
